What to Order
Corn Bread
This unique cornbread is both crumbly and moist, offering a perfect balance of sweet and savory flavors, especially when paired with the jaggery and cardamom butter.
"My personally favorite was actually the corn bread: crumbly yet moist and warm with a perfect balance of sweet and savory. It was delicious eaten on its own, but the butter elevated it: it was made with jaggery (a natural sweetener from sugar cane juice) and spices, the strongest spice I could taste being cardamom."

Brussel Sprouts
Crispy and flavorful, these Brussels sprouts are served in generous portions, though the accompanying bell pepper hummus and beet dressing could have a stronger taste.
"We were a big group of celiacs, and our server was super helpful and understanding. The food was so incredible! Highly recommend the beets and burrata, the brussel sprouts, the chicken kebab, and the Uzbeki palaw."
Meg Leckie
Bolani
A pan-fried flatbread filled with generously spiced mashed potatoes, offering a flavorful and authentic Afghan experience.
"I’ve been waiting to visit Zarak for years, and finally got to try this place on a spontaneous occasion. It was great and I’m so glad that I finally came! The servers were friendly, attentive and passionate about their cuisine. We tried only a few items on their menu: Bolani, beef Mantu, and fish masala curry. Everything was on point - balanced and vibrant flavor, timing for serving, and authentic vibe of the restaurant."

"Second time here and the food didn’t disappoint!! Whilst the Fried butter chicken was my favourite, every other dish we ordered was very flavourful!!"
Rushani Pathirana
Kabuli Pulao (Qabeli Palaw)
This traditional Afghan rice dish features incredibly fresh, tender, and perfectly cooked meat that melts in your mouth, with an authentic balance of spices and textures.
"We tried several dishes, but the Kabuli Pulao (Qabeli Palaw) was the absolute standout. The meat was incredibly fresh, tender, and cooked to perfection—literally melting in the mouth. It’s rare to find such an authentic balance of spices and textures."
Mahsa Hafezi
Fig and Pistachio Sour
A unique and delicious cocktail that showcases the restaurant's creativity in its drink offerings.
"Our group of seven ladies shared multiple flavourful plates, plus the cocktails were so unique, fig and pistachio sour in particular."
